Success Skills Centre (SSC)

Success Skills Centre (SSC) has operated since 1985 as a community-based, not-for-profit organization, working in partnership with the federal and provincial governments. The Centre works primarily with immigrant professionals and skilled workers who have had their education and experience from outside of Canada. The Centre's main objective is to help remove barriers immigrants encounter which interfere with their ability to utilize their skills and training in Canada. SSC provides services and programs that assist immigrant professionals and skilled workers obtain employment appropriate to their credentials.

Employment Solutions for Immigrant Youth (ESIY) is a federally and provincially funded organization that works with newcomer youth who fall within the specific criteria:

  • Looking for work and pursuing educational upgrading
  • Out of school and unemployed
  • Between the ages of 18 and 30
  • Self-supporting, on Adjustment Assistance, or Employment and Income Assistance
The mission of the organization is to design job specific programming to prepare immigrant youth with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for successful, sustained employment in high demand occupations within the Manitoba labour force. Critical to the venture's growth is the ability to offer Winnipeg employers with well-trained, skilful, and ready to work immigrant youth with competencies in the professions, trades, and technologies field. Employment Solutions will utilize a client-centered approach to service delivery, helping clients achieve desired outcomes as well as working hand in hand with businesses to build partnerships that address their human resource needs.
